    Materials Needed:

    1. Three (3) Ring Binder/folder.
    2. Pen and/or Pencils.

    Course Description:

    1. Because the driving risk is real and always present while in a vehicle, this course discusses those risks and how being a “Responsible Driver” can and will reduce those risks to the point that teenagers will become both better drivers and passengers. Statistics show that the probability of being in an accident is almost 1 in 9. Because students feel that they have a 1 in 1000 probability in being in an accident, this class will focus on decreasing that accident rate to the point where the probability is closer to what students believe.
    2. *** Summer classes will run in 2 separate sessions.  Each session will run approximately 3 weeks.  Students will be in either the 1st session or the 2nd session.  Summer class lectures will be Monday through Friday from 9:05 - 10:35. Driving time will occur according to the schedule determined the first day of class for 90 minutes per day.
    3. You are expected to be at each day of class and for each driving session. There will only be a couple makeup days available for driving makeup and there will only be one lecture makeup day.

*** = This schedule is subject to change.

    Attendance Policy:

Attendance regulations for Driver Education are established by the NY State Department of Motor Vehicles and the NY State Department of Education.

    4. Failure to meet these guidelines will result in denial of completion certificate.

We expect that students  1) Be Punctual, 2) Be Prepared, and 3) Be Polite.

No cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed in class or in the car. All cell phones are to be turned off at the beginning of class and prior to entering the vehicle. Failure to follow this rule will result in denial of credit for the class period in which the incident tasks place.
