Hello!  My name is April Ameigh-Derick.  This is my fifth year as a first grade teacher, and 15th year of teaching.  For 8 1/2 years I was a Special Education Teacher.  I enjoy being a first grade teacher and am looking forward to another great year.  I believe that first grade is the most important year of a child's school career.  This is the year when a child will truely learn to read, write, and work with mathmatical concepts.  I am looking forward to working with my new group of students this year.
