Welcome to 3^rd Grade!  My name is Jessica Bennett and I am very excited to be your teacher this year!  I am looking forward to our first day of school together on Wednesday, September 3^rd!  We will spend the first week of school getting to know each other and our classroom routines.

       I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I am married and have a 3^1/2 year old son named Jack.  We are also expecting another baby in November! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I also enjoy going to the beach, playing golf, reading, and exercising. I can’t wait to learn all about you and hear about your exciting summer!

       Third Grade is going to be a very exciting and special year.  In Science we will be learning about different types of plant and animal organisms and how their structures help them survive.  We will be “traveling” to different regions of the world in Social Studies and learning how geography impacts the way people live.  We will investigate various ways of thinking mathematically to learn how to multiply and divide, understand fractions and learn about geometry.   We will also be reading a wide variety of literature and examining texts closely to understand the deeper meaning within fiction and non-fiction texts.  I have so many fun activities planned that I can’t wait to get started!  Enjoy the last couple weeks of summer, see you soon!
